Holyoke, MA – The Holyoke Public Library will host actor and author Adrian Alvarado on Saturday, October 11th, as part of its Hispanic Heritage Month programming.

Alvarado, best known for his television work on General Hospital and Law & Order: SVU, will read from his memoir Flipping My Script, a deeply personal story tracing his roots between Jersey City and Puerto Rico. The event will feature a reading, Q&A session, and book signing.

Library director María G. Pagán confirmed the program, noting that community members will also have the opportunity to share lunch afterward at the nearby El Rincón Boricua Restaurant—making the afternoon not just about literature, but also about cultural connection.

“Alvarado’s story is one of resilience, migration, and identity,” Rivera writes. “It speaks to the Puerto Rican diaspora while reminding us that our shared experiences are worth celebrating.”
